At Affidea, clinical governance plays an important role in maintaining high standards of patient care, safety and service quality across our clinics.

Our Governance Committee provides oversight and leadership across key areas including patient safety, clinical quality, risk management, regulatory compliance and operational performance. The committee works to ensure that services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with best practice standards.

The Governance Committee regularly reviews clinical outcomes, patient feedback, incidents, policies and service improvements to support continuous development and high-quality patient care.

The responsibilities of the Governance Committee include:

  • Monitoring and improving patient safety and clinical quality

  • Reviewing clinical incidents, risks and governance processes

  • Supporting regulatory and compliance standards

  • Promoting continuous service improvement and best practice

  • Overseeing quality assurance and patient experience initiatives

  • Supporting safe, effective and person-centred care across all services

Membership of the Governance Committee includes:

  • Managing Director

  • Medical Directors

  • Accountable Officer at Hillsborough Private Clinic – Mr Gary McKee

  • Accountable Officer at Orthoderm Private Clinic – Mr Michael Eames

  • Quality and Risk Manager

  • Clinical Manager

  • HR and Compliance Manager

  • Regional Manager / Clinic Operations Manager

The committee works collaboratively to ensure strong governance processes are embedded throughout the organisation and that patient wellbeing remains at the centre of all decision-making.
