Mr Michael Eames

Michael Eames is a consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery. He qualified in 1992 and was appointed consultant in the Ulster Hospital Dundonald in 2004. He worked in Adelaide, Australia in 2003-4 with renowned surgeon Greg Bain.

His main interests are sports related injuries and arthroscopy of shoulder, elbow and wrist. He treats many professional athletes and has close links with Ireland and Ulster rugby, GAA, soccer, boxing Ireland, Crossfit, Irish Swimming Association and Sports Institute for Northern Ireland. He has treated several world champions and Olympians.

He is an Independent Match Day Doctor for the IRFU. He was President of the Irish Hand Surgery Society 2021-3. He is medical director of Affidea Northern Ireland and is a member of the European Medical Advisory Board of Affidea. When not working his main sports are sailing and skiing.
